Where does your Creativity come from?
What is creativity? Where does its magical flow come from? I think back to times in my life where I have felt the most creative. Without blinking I know it is when I am driving. On a six hour drive from Midland to Ft. Worth streams of ideas flow through me. By the end of the drive I am as exhausted from the creating that has consumed me. For most of my life I believed it was the magic of Midland, or the west Texas roads that go on forever and take my mind with them.

Divine Creativity
My creativity is a direct result of my divinity, my spirituality. I believe everyone has a divine pipeline and we only have to tap it and know how to tap it in order to have it flow freely. As with anything once we've got the pipeline flowing we must visit it regularly or it will stop flowing.

Creativity Redefined
"Creativity is not some random magical gift bestowed on the few. It is the result of the winning combination of environment, experience and skill. Creativity is not motivated by fiscal reward, an imposed due date, fear or competition. It is the result of being empowered with time to solve a problem." -Fast Company

Why Write
I have often wondered what drives a person to write, and more to the point, why I write. On occasion I have examined my need to write in my own poetry and prose. ”Why Write” came about not long after I began reading my poetry a loud at the Salisbury Art Centre Poetry Café and one of the audience members asked me why I wrote. I have been asked this question a number of times over the years and as all the others at this time I wasn’t able to come up with an adequate answer. The question rattled around in my head for quite some time after the latest asking until I was driven to write “Why Write”.

Pen to Paper
How am I inspired to be creative? One thing in particular immediately came to mind:
Rain. Something about rainfall sparks my creativity, putting me in the mood to write, or paint, or compose. You know that hush that sneaks up on you right before a good rain? Everything gets quiet, like the world is holding its breath, waiting for the downpour. And then it comes – loud, pounding rain, drumming overhead. . .

My Creativity comes the air I breath, the water that flows, the earth and the sky above me. My thoughts just glide and dance with all of these elements
and builds a foundation for my creative being.

Inspiration for creativity
Looking at first at the beliefs put forward about the nature of creativity, from scientists and philosophers, then moving onto exploring the inspiration for artists musically.
"I thought to myself, why only present actual music, art etc here, that are the final product, rather than looking at the way in which that music/art has come to be written. Looking at what has inspired artists can often lead to a greater understanding of their music and point us towards other artists which would be otherwise undiscovered by us.
I found this recently..."

U were made 2 create
Made by the great creator ... we create! We were created by HIM to create, yet along our way we loose site of this gift and yet some of us, even fail to realize we are the creative gift.

magical Texas highways
Those Texas highways lead to creative thinking for me. I have planned out so many projects and paintings while riding across West Texas. Then again washing dishes often has the same effect on me ... just doesn't seem as magical.

CREATIVITY: It is not beyond any of us! [Part I]
Somehow, I made a connection with your creativity article on a very different level. I also love to drive because it seems my mind is at peace and ideas continually flow. I have to keep a notepad in the passenger seat so I can pull over and jot down ideas or ‘notes to self’ before they are buried beneath the tide of ideas that cannot be held back.
I have now taken flight to another wave of thought…what to do with that creativity once you have identified it, voiced it aloud, or written it down.
