TV-Free Tuesdays
As a stay at home/work from home mom, I often resort to the TV as a babysitter way to often. In this post I attempt "TV-free Tuesdays." Anyone else have good ideas for finding the balance between TV as a useful tool and TV overload?

A Mom's got to do what a Mom's got to do!
I often ask myself the same question regarding the amount of TV I allow my 2 1/2 year old to watch. Heck, I question just about every parenting decision I make, and I always calm my nerves with the same conclusion- anything is okay in moderation. Let's be honest, we watched TV growing up and we are perfectly normal blogging parents- what could be better?! I think we have to balance our sanity with our children's well being, and if that means popping in a movie so we can clean up the kitchen and switch the laundry, then so be it. Sure, they turn into zombies and it's also the time I use to cut my little guy's fingernails and brush his teeth, but it works! I'm impressed with your decision to cut down the TV and your honesty in blogging about it. You are a REAL mom, and I can relate to that. Great post!

Your Baby Can Read!
I was wasting time online the other day when I came across a little article about teaching babies to read via movies. What a great way to deal with the mommy-guilt over letting the kiddo watch too much TV, right? (You know what I'm talking about. Speaking of, check out Fawn Warner's post "One Small Change" for some great tips on dealing with this issue). The article went something like this:
There is a small window of opportunity in which your baby can read naturally, without a struggle!! This occurs between the ages of birth and four years old, so take advantage of this miraculous opportunity and buy our video program, just $99.99 with flashcards!! If you buy this program in the next ten seconds, you will receive a surprise bonus gift!!
