The Top-10 "Non-Words" for 2010...
You may have recently heard that the Oxford University Press, which publishes the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) each year, recently announced the new batch of 2,000 words that have been added to its current edition.
Examples that did make it into the dictionary this year include Netbook – a portable Internet device; Staycation – an at home holiday; freemium – a free premium gift; Jeggings – skin-tight leggings that resemble jeans as well as hundreds of others.
We’ve heard of most of those words. However, I’m interested in the words that did NOT make the cut. Here's a link to story in the UK telegraph that lists nearly 40 words at the end of the article, which were NOT included in the OED.
You'll have fun picking your top-10 favorites that are sure to spur lots of comments from your readers.
I made a similar blog post on Tuesday 8/24.

10 Best Words That Didn’t Make the Dictionary
I’ve never been one to use big words. I have a decent vocabulary, but for the most part, I stick with the same old words day after day. I was surprised, then, when I read that some of the words that I use regularly were just recently added into the Oxford English Dictionary. Way more interesting than the words that made it this time around are the words that were proposed but did not make the final cut.
I've listed a few of my favorite "non-words" along with a challenge to use one of these non-words in the comment section. Fun and educational!

Non-words... nonsense or just fun!
I went through the article and chose my favorite non-words and challenged my followers to do the same, or at least pick their fave... I also asked the question - will any of them actually catch on to become words for next year?
