Thou shalt not swear, or do you?
Swearing on blogs, do you or don't you? I was curious on the subject myself, since being a ''Mom Blogger'' I was supposed to adhere to a whole set of standards. Which I pretty much disregard anyway. My post was entitled Thou shalt not swear and was aimed at the Mom blogging community in general about the standards we are sometimes expected to meet.
For many people swearing on a blog is a big fat no no - for others it's part of the humor on the blog and thus is expected. But where do your feelings lie? Should it really be a matter of the blog itself? Do you find yourself shocked and disgusted if certain people are swearing on their blogs (i.e. Mom Bloggers) Does somehow seeing the words themselves differ from hearing them in person?
I think this is an issue many bloggers face when it comes to what to and what not to put on their blogs. Of course, it's a matter of preference and personal boundaries. This could create some interesting and varied answers on your blog, as people can be quite passionate (or not) about the subject itself.

What the %&$#!? To Swear or Not to Swear
There are really three questions:
1. Do you swear on your own blog?
2. Do you think other people should?
3. Do you allow swearing in your comments?
I loved this seed and loved writing about it. It's definitely gotten people talking, that's for sure. What the %&$#!? :) just kidding.

The Profanity Dilemma and the Blogosphere
A hot topic on many blogs these days is whether or not using "swear words" is a good or bad idea. I swear like a sailor in person, I swear along with my professors and peers, Alaryyk and I sometimes sound like a couple of drunken pirates, for no reason other than we are passionate about an issue.
Will we dare to utter the occasional "F-bomb!" or will we continue to substitute euphemisms like "effing" and "eff that!", as not to offend the few people out there who find profanity very offensive?

Just showing some support
This is Keith
Just showing some support to your blog. For some odd reason I'm drawn to it, even though it's not usually my style of read. But hey, everything happens for a reason right?
Keep blogging, and feel free to check mine out sometime.

F*@#ing Dirty Mommy!
Face like an angel, mouth like a truck driver. These are the words my Mother used to describe me many times through my teens and twenties. I don't think the cursing was especially bothersome to her as it was shocking (that and I was an English major). I can still cuss a blue streak, but I am now more respectful of my audiences.
I'm also now a Mom. And one of my children is a parroting toddler. I'm thankful that some of her pronunciation is not always clear, as she has caught me using some less than desirable terms. And the last thing I want is my two year old daughter walking around swearing at her playmates, the old woman in the grocery store, her brother, and so on. But that's not to say that Mommy won't.

To Swear or Not To Swear
Where do you stand on your own, in ‘real’ life and online, on your blog, in comments you make to others in whatever forum…do you censor yourself? Do you try to behave yourself? Does it not matter to you one way or the other because you don’t swear anyway?
Usually I try not to swear. It’s a self-respect thing. Or it used to be. How lo- brow and uncouth, with all the words stuffed in my head, must I be to fall to using such offensive language… And then, I did my normal thing. I not only read books and blogs and so on by people who don’t live in this country…I talked to them, to people not from this country. And, ya know what, they swear. Not every single person in the whole wide world, but as in most things, Americans, for some reason, want to be Puritan above all else. I say, be my guest. You are definitely allowed.

Curses!
Profanity, once used to shock, to make people listen, to shake up the status quo, has become the status quo. People swear... a lot! Does that mean that you have to include cursing in your dialogue to make it sound realistic?

To Swear Or Not Swear? That Is The Question.
This post is a follow up to Thou Shalt Not Swear. Should mom bloggers who use swear words in their blog posts be looked down upon. Or should they be treated the same as anyone else who might use a swear word in their post?
