Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Today started out innocently enough.  My parents were throwing my lovely husband (does that make him sound girly?  Should I say, 'my burly, hairy husband?  Cause I will) a birthday shindig today around 3 so we had some time to just hang out.  I made the baby some eggs for breakfast, worked on my blog for a while and mainly just wasted time.  When you're waiting for ice cream cake, all you can do is pretend you're doing something important to cover up the fact that you're really just insane over ice cream.  Just me?  Alright

I'm lucky enough to have a burly husband who is totally fine with picking up the slack around here.  He does dishes and laundry, no prob.  He wipes baby butts, no prob.  He does the things that most men just can't be bothered with, at least not without griping about it.  I can't complain about this day too much because of how awesome he really is!

So, there he was putting dishes in the dishwasher and cleaning out the refrigerator, too.  Hey, remind me to ya know, put more food in there.  It's scary-empty!  He came across some rice.  Dear Lord, why rice?  Why can't I just say, 'Hey, rice!  You weren't that great!  I'll throw you away!'  Why did I save it?  He put the whole pot of rice down the garbo.  It didn't go down.

My sink drain has been stupid for a while now and though it hasn't been leaky, it was really ugly and I would have liked to have seen it fixed a long time ago but it wasn't a priority.  Not until today, at least...  Since the sink was totally clogged with rice and it wasn't going anywhere, we had to Draino it.  Since the broken sink drain wouldn't have withstood the Draino, that had to be fixed first.

We did what we could and went to the party.  OMG, ice cream cake is awesome!  I've always said I hated it but I just don't think I realized what I was missing.  Hubs got a book written by our preacherman and a card that made me cry and we got to hang with my sister and her boys and my parents.  It was an awesome day!!!  That is until baby had a melt-down and we had to go home.
