SEO should mean Selecting Every Opportunity
SEO is a term most web designer's know, but for the small business person like me it's a conundrum of rules and regs dictated by Google and some by Yahoo that seems overwhelming to understand. I asked my webmaster, Barbara Weibel, at Holeinthedonut.com what this all means and she explained the Blog is the number one driver of traffic to the website and getting incoming links into your site is the KEY to high page rankings by Google, the demi GOD of the internet.
With a little searching, I final found an article that explains some of this techno garble to this right brained interior designer in a language I can understand. I thought it might be beneficial to share this with anyone that might stumble across my BLOG. Hopefully, other designers will find this and want to link into my page. Here is another article I found, (wow! there are so many when you start looking) of the 100 best SEO blogsthat I hope will help you to learn a little more of this mysterious world of the internet traffic flow and how to get it to your website.
By the way SEO stands for SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION
for those of you like me, just learning how to drive traffic to the website.

Delving into the depths of SEO for the first time has been a daunting experience, and one I am yet to gain a comprehensive understand of.
It has only become apparent to me just how important it is in the modern age to show up near the top of any given search engine's pecking order.
This blog is a response to learning about SEO and why it has affected my life.

Selecting Every Opportunity | SEO for Search
Building your Blogs Rank and Search Engine Popularity is Time consuming and Hard Work. First you need to write lots of content, do lots of SEO by adding keywords, promote the hell of of it by using sites like Facebook and Twitter, build backlinks and trackbacks and keep it up as your rank will eventually fall.
Everyones aim should be to get the lowest Alexa rank number and to get a google page rank of 10, which I can say is not the easiest job in the world. with millions of Blogs and websites out there the competition is intense.
There is hope however but again it can be hard work and a lot of blog owners give up after a few months, it can take weeks, months or even years to get the where you are aiming for! Promoting on Facebook, Twitter and other Social sites, Adding your blog to blog directorys like Tecnorati and Commenting on others Blogs with the same subject material as yours All help.

SEO
I spent hours yesterday researching information about one of my client's sites. I'll add a few other details that affect the SEO of the site, too.
The higher the page rank of the blogs or sites from which your backlinks come, the more the search engines think your site is important.
Also, the domain age of your site is very important.
Don't forget to ensure that your Title Tag has your main keywords included, and also include them in your site description. For designers, you should also make sure your pages on your site include the city in which you do business since people who are searching for you normally include the city in the search string.
