Plant small - Forget the big farm mentality

We are conditioned early on to think Big when it comes to gardening.  Big area, Big yeilds, Big amounts of labor, etc,  But it just isn't what the frugal small  square foot or eBucket gardner is all about.

Until I realized I had to ditch the big farm mentality  I often wondered if my gardening was worth the effort I was expending.

Now I realize it is and I am satisfied!  Gardening is a pleasure.

Eliminate the Big Farm Mentality- From the Frugal Gardener

It’s around this time of year that I start to crave green. Michigan at this point has been pretty gray with the occasional few days of beautiful white. I came across this post the other day and it made me start to get garden fever. I’m headed to the Growing Our Food System conference in a couple weeks and all of this talk of growing my own food has me pretty excited.
I love how the “Frugal Gardener” talks about growing just the right enough food so the job of having a garden isn’t too overwhelming. He even addresses a problem we had in our own garden- growing too much Zucchini.
