"Pediatric Bipolar Disorder"! I call B.S.! Do you?

Over about the past five years, there has been an epidemic in diagnosing children with this new "disorder", that does not even exist in the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders" - commonly known as "The Bible of Psychiatry".  Pediatricians and child psychiatrists have been distributing prescriptions for drugs that have never been tested on children to "treat" this "disorder", including antipsychotics, antidepressants, and tranquilizers.

Do you know anyone who has been affected by this new "syndrome of childhood"?  Do you agree with me that this is pseudoscience?  I would love to get a little feedback on this, as I am embarking on my Master's thesis on the topic, from a historical perspective.
