Not So Obvious Tips for Dumpster Diving
I used to follow a flickr user who snapped photos of the discards in the alleys near her. It was a thankless job, because there was no end to the photo opps. Old bikes, a headboard, dressers, kids' toys. There’s no good reason to put useful items in the garbage vs. passing them on. But at the same time, it does little good to wag your finger at those who do it if they’re not listening. Sometimes people just want something gone now. There's always a story.

The Fine Art of Living On Less Than Budget
Well, to make it perfectly clear from the start this is not going to be a how-to post. I'm sure that if you have any idea what I mean, by living on less than a budget you have a very creative mind already or you have access to sources that can tell you step by step what to do to scrimp and save every last dime you have. I was inspired for this post by this girl who wrote about dumpster diving. This brought to mind my own trips to the trash bins. I have pulled so much great stuff out of dumpster. I have pulled so many wrecks out of the dumpster as well. I once got a fully usable charcoal grill out of the apartment's next doors dumpster. I also pulled out a year's worth of Cosmopolitan Magazines that day. The neighbor kids freaked out that I was grilling my food on something I got out of the trash, but in my defense I did scrub it with soap and water and then built a fire in it and let it burn off any germs that might be left. My dad is not an operating room nurse for nothing!
