Night Owls vs. Early Birds: Who Will Win? Morning or Night People?
A friend of mine and I were talking today. She was telling me about how her mother thinks she should be getting up at 8 am. Many people would consider this normal. Society would probably agree. Others, might even think 8 am is too late. From my friend’s perspective, however, this was just way too early to be waking up in the morning.
Perhaps her mother believed in the old saying, “the early bird gets the worm.” The idea is that “if you snooze, you lose,” because someone else will “beat you to the punch.” Essentially, those who wake up late will “miss the train” and forego potential opportunities.

The early bird catches the worm: how to rise early and why
I am an early bird and many people cannot understand why I like this so much.
In my research I found out how many wonderful (health) benefits getting up early has and also how you can become an early riser.
Have fun!

Night Stalkers or Day Trippers?
I enjoyed Aron Wong's article about who has the upper hand when it comes to night owls and earl birds-
I have an IQ of 126. I think I got most of that when I worked the fifteen years on the swing/graveyard shifts. I did make more money. I slept better too. I like being up late at night when the rest of the world is sleeping and the house is quite, it's prime writing time for me.
If I had business to conduct during the day I could get it done before I went to bed. Now I have to take off work....I think my IQ dropped to 100 and I know my paycheck has suffered greatly.
I do enjoy getting up early, but not for work.

One in the Eye for all my Early Risers from a Night Owl up too late
Ok, I ran across this post and I had to share it...because I feel vindicated:
"Night Owls vs. Early Birds: Who Will Win? Morning or Night People?" from Looking For My Life.
See? See? There is scientific data backing me up! Hah! No more cracks about making marmalade at midnight, please. My DNA has given a statement and says it will take full responsibility for my vampiric sleeping habits; thank you DNA.
I can't help it if I sleep until 11am most days and stay up until 3am...it's just the way I am. The thought of getting up at 7am nauseates me. I have breakfast at noon. It's great...try it sometime.
so for all the Early Birds out there in my world who have ragged me about my sleep habits, and you KNOW who you are...you can rest easy in the fact that my nocturnal nature is one less thing you have in life to worry about.

Battle of the Night Owl and the Early Bird
In life we all have our own rhythm, circadian rhythm that is.
As a child I was always forced to get up early. That, at the time, had a lot to do with tradition - as it is felt that the female should be early risers to take care of the household. I was never an early riser (an early bird). Mornings are the worse part of my day. Morning for me, begins at 10:00am.
Perhaps that has something to do with the fact that I can not go to bed before 12:00am. I am a night owl.
After reading Aaron's blog I realized that perhaps being a night owl is part of my DNA. It is backed by facts and several researches done by prominent researchers and published in prominent journals. It even goes as far as to demerit Benjamin Franklin's " Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise" and John Ray's very popular "The early bird catcheth the first worm."

Defending the Night Owl
I was one of those willful children who hated nap time, because it meant staring at the ceiling of my bedroom until my mother gave me permission to "wake up".
I agree with the information Aaron provided, showing that there is a genetic component that renders some of us night owls.
In my blog, I talk about this genetic aspect and about the wonder and beauty of the "night life".
