My Triathlon Ate My Marriage
Ten weeks until North Carolina Whitelake 1/2 Ironman! Yeeha. That was said with enthusiasm. This morning was a swim workout: 2 x 75 m warm up, 2 x 600 (1 slow and 1 fast), 150 cool down. That is probably not what I did. I'm not sure what I did actually. This was my first swim after my lesson, where my entire stroke was changed. So, to say that I was a little, shall we say awkward, is a supreme understatement. Yeah. I'm working on keeping my arms wider, extending my arms fully and raising my chin one inch. I'm also working on keeping my left arm in symmetry. Did you get all that? All that equals running into the wall and zig zagging around my lane. Awesome. My husband commented that I was going too slow. I explained that I wasn't going slow - I was just concentrating really hard. Then tonight, for our anniversary mind you, we biked 75 minutes. Maybe my marriage is being gobbled up by triathlon training...Please. Tomorrow is bike. The day after that is bike. I think you get the point.
