Mixtape
I used to collect cassette tapes as a kid. I found two of them while rifling through an old trunk, the single remaining artifacts of my depleted collection.
The first was Plumb's self-titled debut album, the one with the fork and the plumb on the cover. The second was an unmarked, mixed tape.
Today, the majority of my music collection (or rather, what I've managed to recollect since The Incident of the Missing MP3 File), is stored on my computer. The rest of it is tucked safely away in my car console, half store-bought and the other half burned. I still call them mixed tapes. . .
. . . What's on your mixed tapes?

Cassettes and 8 tracks and albums and CDs
Read a blog just now by someone who talked about how they used to collect cassette tapes as a kid. Well, that sort of dates both them and me too.

New Stuff/Mixtapes
This is the first seed I've planted - if I get this whole thing correctly that is.I was inspired by a couple of points, those being listening to music until I get sick of a given selection, and the format choices I've lived long enough to see change in what I thought was a relatively short period of time - yet a period that now finds me in middle age!

Playlist A-B
I have a large numbers of records (8000+) and it’s difficult to attach a theme. Set to “mix” I can hear classic country, reggae, electronica, and various regional music within an hours time. My playlists and especially my “writing playlists” are very different. Specific artists, songs and genres have become staples and get listened to regularly. I’ve grown accustomed to folk music and variants thereof. My Quick + Dirty A – B picks for my personal playlist...

Love Is A Mixtape
Celebrating my love for playlists and the transcending power of the mixtape I offer up Beautiful Songs To Drive And Get Lost To. It is a collection of slower downbeat songs that offer a lovely soundtrack to the continuous rain here in Portland, OR
