I'm embarking on the 52 Weeks of Blogging your Passion journey and the first step in the process is developing your blog's mission statement. The mission statement serves as the focal point of your blog and all posts should be written with the umbrella of the mission in mind.
So what's my mission? In a nutshell, to support, promote and spread the word about indie designers, handmade artisans and independently owned brick and mortar shops and businesses.
So, what's your mission? How do you carry it out in your blog?
EeBay’s latest ad campaign includes promoting the eBay Green Team by pointing out how environmentally kind and ethical wearing previously owned clothing is: The greenest product is the one that already exists.
The facts presented in the promotion may be new, but the principal probably isn’t news to vintage fashion lovers & those who are generally thrifty. The question is, do you think this will change buying habits?
Last fall I started doing handmade craft shopping parties, modeled after Tupperware or Mary Kay parties. I make recycled clothing and accessories, but I have also begun selling crafts and handmade goods by other artists as well. Many art and craft markets in my area do not allow you to sell work by artists other than yourself, so I needed to find an alternative way to market these handmade goods.
Now the Easter Bunny has moved back into his hole until next year, mothers all over the world are anxiously looking forward to 'their' holiday: Mother's Day. This day is celebrated in many countries, but it is particularly meaningful in cultures where mothers are considered the most important person in the family, including the Italian culture.
While doing the Thing A Day Challenge for February, I’ve run across a ton of beautiful crochet heart patterns – all for free. These are all first rate designs given freely by the creators. I wanted to get these beautiful designs in one easily accessable place and share them with other crafters, as well as give a shout out to the designers. If you knit or crochet, I hope you enjoy this round up. And even if you don't, you can still feast on some great eye candy photography and get your hands on a piece or two or thr
I discuss some of the local farmer's markets in my town and the benefit of buying directly from the farmers that grow your food. I also share my week's CSA share.
What motivates you to buy local? What are your favorite local places where you live? id love to hear what you have to say about supporting your local economy and what is happening in your town!

Based on an advert for laser hair removal I read, I think we spend about a month shaving our legs. So on a blog post I wrote called "does laser hair removal really give you a month of free time?", I have challenged you to blog about how you spend your perfect month.
I can't wait to read the Buzz with your ideas and will give the Buzz I think is best $100 as a prize.
Hope you have as much fun thinking about it as I did.
Ladies, how many of you have been professionally measured and fitted for a bra? Did you end up with a supportive, flattering and comfortable bra that looked and felt great?
If so, you're one of the lucky ones. Any woman who consults a so-called professional bra fitter risks having the wrong size thrust upon her.
My confession is this. I love books, I love to read books, but I have not actually lost myself in a book since…well…the last Harry Potter Book—Deathly Hallows. I know, I know, it is truly awful isn’t it?

Corx, a company that designs beautiful handbags made from cork from Portugal. Vegan, and sustainability never looked so beautiful. I loved them so much I purchased the backpack and got more compliments in one day. My instincts were right, these bags are special.
As I run across offers of giveaways aka blog candy and or interesting challenges I will post them on my blog. Anything I post I have entered. Come join me in my endevor to blog everyday and increase my papercrafting skills.
Switching to cloth grocery bags is something many people are trying to do. Here is a humorous and helpful look at the realities of making the switch; from remembering to bring your bags to getting the stink eye from bagging clerks and customers in line behind you. Let's get the conversation started on this seemingly simple green routine.
As the winter holiday season approaches it is time to start thinking about a strategy for gift giving if you want to keep it frugal and green. The suggestions in this blog will help those short on cash as well as those who want to lessen their environmental impact.
This is a post about two popular styles of decorating and how strongly people feel about one or the other. In it, I excerpt some comments from readers on Apartment Therapy and also explain how shabby chic has evolved from a feminine to a more eclectic style. Photos I took in a popular home boutique in Chicago are included in my post.
Saving money on grocery shopping can be a great way to make a huge impact on the family budget. This group of blog posts provides several tips on how to save on the grocery store. Many of the tips involve using coupons, but there are lots of tips for those of you who don't like to use coupons as well.
This is part two of the wardrobe remix posts. Some of you may be familiar with Flickr's popular group "Wardrobe Remix". This is based on that. Some individual photos can be found there as well. This blog is a more detailed extension of "Wardrobe Remix". Includes different shots of outfits, outfits paired with different accessories, and personal style.
I’ve “ungreened” a little this week and I need to share. What, you ask, could I have possibly done? I’ll just start by blaming it on bacon grease (vegetarians of all levels - feel free to comment).
You see, I stopped buying paper towels about 6 months ago (very green indeed) - and everything was going along just fine. I always had plenty of random paper napkins from to-go meals--never throwing them away and always putting them to good use!
Until one day, while frying my usual pound of Saturday morning bacon...
Being ordinary American consumers, we feel pretty safe in assuming that we’re not alone in our diligent commitment to utilizing every possible self-service option at our disposal before we eventually suck it up and make that dreaded 1-800 customer service call for help...
My Hubby says that no one can beat Eminem lyrically. I seem to agree. He has a way of telling a story in all his music. Even though the words can be harsh at least you brings the story around full circle. Even with his first album we have been fans. Some songs I just could not imagine blasting throughout the neighborhood but I can just sit back and actually listen to the words in the songs. Some were funny and some were just plain wrong. But at the end of the songs he invoked the feels in my I assume the song was supposed to do. Sad, happy, anger, weary, and laugh my ass off giggles.
