What is your opinion regarding obese passengers and the rights of others traveling onboard an aircraft? Do you think that they should have to purchase two seats if they choose to live that kind of lifestyle? While I do understand that not all obese persons eat poorly, should they have the courtesy of others in mind? Where should we in the airline industry draw the line?
What about the children of these people? Is it okay that because they are overweight, their child should be?
Attachment is the ‘it theory’ of parenting right now. As defined in the psychological sense, attachment theory says that a child must develop a psychological and emotional attachment to one of their primary caregivers to develop normally. Therapists have seen that people who fail to form attachments while infants are predisposed to mental illness starting as young as early adolescence. However, as with most forms of parenting theory, there is little in the way of experimentation or studies proving the efficacy of Attachment Parenting.

We've got "maturity" all wrong. And how are we ever supposed to teach someone about being mature if we can't properly understand it oureselves?
ModernSophist.com examines the connotation of the word maturity and notices a trend: most people define the word in terms of "not being immature." What, if any, is the effect of defining goal of self actualization in terms of its negative?
The author proposes re-defining the modern connotation in positive terms, terms which promote better understanding and contemplation, traits which further promote the effort.
It seems to me that there is a lot of heat, not much light, in the current debate around the mosque near Ground Zero. For an entirely unique view on the matter, check out my blog at http://www.run4yrlife.blogspot.com

High fructose corn syrup is in everything these days. When I was at the grocery looking for applesauce, I picked up the one labeled Original and it contained HFCS. To me there is nothing "original" about HFCS.
A recent study from researchers at Princeton illustrated just how bad HFCS is.
HFCS causes obesity, promotes fat gain around the mid-section and increases triglycerides in the blood.
Am I right to be outraged that foods label "original" contain such a dangerous additive or is HFCS not really all that bad?
Hello! It's that time of the week again! This week's herb is also a well-known one, although it is mainly known for its scent, it is one of the most versatile herbs in the world: Lavender.
A friend of mine and I were talking today. She was telling me about how her mother thinks she should be getting up at 8 am. Many people would consider this normal. Society would probably agree. Others, might even think 8 am is too late. From my friend’s perspective, however, this was just way too early to be waking up in the morning.
Oh yeah, it's time. If you plan on gardening this year, better get your seeds early. I ordered my seeds from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds last night. Find out why this isn't your average seed catalog.
My daughter had a terrible cough with her last virus. I don't like giving my children over the counter cough syrup and read recently that theobromine in chocolate helps suppress a cough better than codine. So I thought, it's worth a try. I already give them elderberry syrup at the first sign of a cold or virus and it helps to reduce the severity and length of their illness and avoid infection. Here's my homemade recipe.

America’s Got Talent act by two sisters with cystic fibrosis is an inspiring example of living a positive mindset. Christina and Ali Christensen do what doctors told them was impossible.
Cancer has a characteristic that we teach our children. Share. Unfortunately, its sharing causes heartache, financial strain and often death. In a period of less than ten years, I lost my sister to colon cancer, prayed for the recovery of two of my sisters-in-law to survive breast cancer and nearly lost my husband to esophageal cancer. A classmate of mine from my writing class has cancer. It just happened. One day, she had a cough and the next day she was down for the count. She’s is waging a brave battle against her demon.
Being a critical medical researcher, I give advice to my friends, particularly my friends who are also parents, about vaccination. I do not do so in a forceful manner, I just ask people to bear in mind what they are putting into their bodies, considering the toxic "non-medicinal ingredients" such as glycine and aluminum hydrochloride, that comprise a good deal of new vaccines. I became quite passionate about arguing against vaccination during the H1N1 panic, and as new vaccines are being released en masse now - for example the "TwinRix" vaccine recommended for anyone traveling s
