Life Before Creation

A debate on my beliefs of a life being mapped out before conception.  However many mistakes are made throughout a life time, the road always leads back to the straight and narrow and memories formed reflect on thoughts-in-hindsight.  I believe in re-incarnation and fully believe the saying, "you've been here before".

Writing the Novel Based on Real Characters

Women who have unusual occupations or do out-of-the-ordinary things have always been a source of fascination to me. Maybe it’s because I was raised as an independent, self-reliant girl on an isolated eastern Montana ranch. Or maybe because I had a grandmother who rode steers in rodeos during the 1920s.

For many years, I believed her story should be told. But she wasn’t a famous personality like Annie Oakley or Dale Evans, so who would be interested in publishing a biography about a little-known Montana cowgirl from the 1920s?

Grants Pass - The Golden Years by Percy T. Booth

Richard Booth describes his father's book as follows:  "Percy Booth's book, Grants Pass The Golden Years, is remarkable in two ways; his clear recollection of childhood and adult years in Grants Pass plus, countless hours of research and interviews, and his determined effort to seek out and select a priceless collection of pioneer photographs that appear on the following pages."

One Lump or Two? Ladies, Please Check Your Breasts!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I recently found a lump quite by accident, and wish I'd been more vigilant about checking myself. I'm undergoing tests right now, and this post is about the last few days. My maternal grandmother had breast cancer and had a lumpectomy & radiation. My mom and her sister have had several scares, but all benign so far. This is also a warning to women to do their monthly exams!

Where do the husbands fit in?

One of the issues currently facing the United States Military is how to best support the spouses. With more spouses choosing to work, live off the installation or live with family during deployments and training, the traditional model of spousal support (an informal, semisocial group led by the Commanding Officer's wife) is no longer working. The Army has instituted Family Readiness Groups- an "official" organization operated completely by volunteers. The FRGs have met with limited sucess.
