How to Protect Your Email From Spammers While Entering Giveaways
There has been talk amongst the blogosphere about spammers picking up email addresses from giveaway entries. I do not want that happening to anybody- especially readers of legitimate blogs. So please remember follow the tips to keep your email address safe and away from email address swipers.
Know the difference between a Wordpress and Blogger blog.
Wordpress blogs require you to enter your email when commenting. The email address always stays hidden and is only used when the owner of the blog needs to contact you.
Blogger blogs offer you many ways to leave a comment, but the safest way is to use your google email account. If you choose to use any of the options that do not show the blog owner your email address, you will be required to write your email address in the comment itself. That is dangerous and leaves you vulnerable to spammers who are looking for email addresses to spam.
If you do not know the difference between wordpress and blogger, just make sure you follow this rule:
If you do not want to have your email address picked up by spammers, NEVER leave your email address in a public comment.
Do what you can to protect yourself online. This is only one of the many ways out there. Be safe!

Identity Theft & Email Scams
Recently there have been many instances of a new and more insidious type of scam targeting the unwary. Hackers have been able to successfully obtain access to users emails accounts and have sent out heart wrenching emails claiming to be from friends and/or family requesting financial assistance.
