How do you maintain contentment with your station and/or calling in life?
I love my kids, and being a stay-at-home-mom. But I had a rough day yesterday, and couldn't help but think about how life would be different if I worked outside our home. Being content with where I'm at right now is always a struggle for me. No one is constantly happy all the time, but how do you maintain contentment with where you are at in life?

life isn't what you planned for and sometimes it's easy to feel discontent, but the unexpected both grand and disillusioning are great pieces of the tapestry the Lord is using to knit us into who we ought to be for Him.

Ive accepted things as they are
I am able to maintain my contentment with my station in life because I have had it worse. My ex-husband was a douche and although there are days where I feel overwhelmed and overlooked I always think back to those days and think about how far I have come.

How do we maintain contentment?
I read this question from another blog and decided to blog about it myself.. It was one of those questions that make you go "hmmm".
I guess I will start with asking you the same question: How do you maintain contentment in your calling in life? Let me change the question- How do you maintain contentment in the position for life the Lord Jesus has placed you in?
I have spent many years of our (my beloved's and mine) 17 years of marriage working on and off. It was not till about 5-6 years ago did the Lord speak loud and clear to my beloved that working outside of the home for me, and maintaining the home, children and schooling was NOT possible.

am i really making an impact being a stay at home mom?
When I was a single mother raising Gamer all I wanted was to share my life with someone, someone to love me, care for us and maybe even provide financially. Then I met FD (Forgetful Dad) and well -- you don't get to choose who you fall in love with and you love with all your heart, through the good and bad.
Lately it's been bad.
I don't know what it is. I'm more depressed than usual, even though I'm still taking my medications for bipolar depression. I sit and every now and then it hits me when I'm blogging and enjoying myself in those quiet moments without the kids.
I should be doing more.
I should be working.

Satisfaction is when we are completely okay with the status quo (i.e.) until boredom sets in. We do various things to satisfy the flesh: eat, change clothes, change a new hairstyle, spend, etc. Contentment is when we submit to GOD in our present state because we realize that by His Divine Providence and Sovereignty, He has placed us where He Wills us to be for that particular season. We have to remain joyfully in that space until GOD moves us forward into another level of responsibility(not always happily and there is suffering in joy). After all, isn't suffering what brings us closer and makes us more reliant upon the Father in Heaven?
