Gay Suicides
We decided to take a second and write something concerning the terrible rash of suicides committed by gay teens after being bullied. We have several very close friends who are gay and the idea of someone pushing them around because they are who they are just boils our blood. Unfortunately, this is normal for the GLBT community. One our friends just posted a status saying that every gay person has a ‘horror story’.

Not Everyone Has A Horror Story
While some people do have a so called "horror story" while coming out, there are some of us, alot of us that do not have one. In fact our stories provide hope to those that are scared to come out.

Everybody has a horror story
I think it’s time we all start talking about our horror stories, our scars and our triumphs too. As long as people are afraid to climb on top of those tiny everyday soapboxes and tell the room that you’re here, you’re happy to be and you’re not going away anytime soon, it’s never going to get better for the rest of us. Judges and court rulings are chipping away at Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and Prop 8. People are talking about queer-bashing as hate crimes and starting to take it seriously for the first time in a long time. America is in an even split on same-sex marriage, the first in history that the support for marriage equality has been so high. We have the chance to come clean and be honest with ourselves. We have the chance to tell every bully we’re not going to protect them anymore.
