Did You Experience Culture Shock When Returning Home?

After backpacking in Central and South America for a year, my fiance and I return to the United States and are constantly answering the question, "Do you have culture shock?"  We don't feel shocked in any way, but we are much more aware. 

The article shares our struggles with consumerism and waste in the United States after we lived with what we could carry on our backs for the last year.  It was an awakening for us, but the problem is, no one around us can relate. 

We live like weirdos and talk like weirdos, and that's a challenge in itself.  New cars, vast highways, bottled water, it's a completely different world.
