No sooner had the basement of our Montana Unabomber bungalow been stacked with the last of my moving boxes, when I got a phone call from a long-time girlfriend back in Huntington Beach.
Sometimes, shows come along that make you scratch your a head little bit. You ask yourself "What were they thinking? Who would name their show Urinetown? And what is it even about?"
When this comedic satire of a musical opened on Broadway in 2001, no one ever expected anything to come of this odd little show. It had just been presented at the New York Fringe Festival and was far from the typical Golden Era show. The show was surprisingly nominated for 10 Tony Awards and won 3.
Over the weekend I discovered that I am one degree away from knowing a major singing superstar, and that I could even know him in real life!! Have you ever been super duper close to knowing a celebrity?
It's the fifth anniversary of LOVE, Cirque du Soleil and the Beatles' wonderful collaboration of dance, acrobatics, performance art and most importantly, music.
This was my third show, I saw it with my youngest son the first year it came to Las Vegas (not one of my favorite locales), and I returned again with my oldest son and his girlfriend. This time I took my partner for his birthday and he was finally able to see how outrageously wonderful this show is for any one who adores the Beatles.

I have spent so long struggling to find myself and to be myself. I have had much help along the way. As I move further on my journey, I find myself reaching out to those who have helped me along the way.
If it weren't for such wonderful support, who knows what sort of rut I would yet be stuck in, without the first idea as to how to pull myself out.
I am grateful to many people. This is just a small taste...
This is a movie review for Tim Burton's latest movie Alice in Wonderland. It certainly is one of my favourite movie. Truly enjoyable!!! You'll really be fascinated by Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Mia Wasikowska.
"I have walked with crutches since age 5, so the idea of dancing always seemed to apply to someone else...eventually I would open my eyes and see that no one was staring. I was simply part of the group." As you read, perhaps ask yourself how moving away from one's comfort zone can gift us with a whole new perspective about the value of our lives? How might finding the courage to open up to new experiences widen our circle of influence and help us find common ground in unexpected places?
While communication in the modern age seems to have been relegated to a desert of emails and text messages, dance is re-emerging as a pure form of expression. In my blog entry, I discuss the way dance can be used to express emotions that we can't or don't always want to put into words.
How has the dance renaissance affected you?
Describe times in your life when you expressed yourself through dance when words failed you.
What does dance mean to you as a form of personal exploration?
New TV movie coming out this February featuring Toronto dancers from last season's So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Despite her mother's protests and lack of support from her family and mentors, a young dancer inspires the opening of a Disco in modern day LA.
What do you think about the movie industry chosing Toronto to represent LA? Are Toronto dancers as talented as US dancers? Is dancing a viable profession or should there always be a backup plan? Is there really hope for reviving disco dancing in 2010?
