This is a guest post written by Meagan, of The Illustrator's Wife, about the creative process and the obstacles every artist may face . . . with the following encouraging advice:
So don’t be afraid to try. Don’t be afraid to fail. And don’t be ashamed if your stuff really, really sucks at first. You’ll get there. Just keep swimming… Just keep swimming…
I've dealt with depression for most of my life, but it's only been in recent years that I've begun to recognize how many other people are struggling with it too. Depression is silent by its very nature, isolating and stifling, alienating us from those who would help us and those outlets that usually give us happiness. I've found that it seems creative individuals tend to suffer most acutely; the more I poll my friends, writers, actors, painters, costumers and the like, the more I find they have struggled with this insidious illness too.
Just like a smile, a compliment is free and has amazing effects on people.
If you hand out a genuine compliment to a friend, family-member, co-worker or total stranger you may find that suddenly your relationship and mood changes for the better.
But people are still a bit shy about handing out compliments. Why is that?
Where does your inspiration come from? I find inspiration in lots of different places, but it is frequently informed by what I have seen or read. Most frequently from independent sources.
The simple fact that a celebrity is not oblivious to everyone around them is astonishing all on it's own. Charlie is working toward benefitting the crew of his hit sitcom while he is taking time off to recieve treatment. Something CBS, Warner Bros., and Chuck Lorre had no concern about. Despite his personal battles and addictions Charlie Sheen is still concerned about taking care of the people around him. ....The exact reason why Everybody Loves Charlie. Artists On Demand allows the fans to have a one on one experience with their favorite artists and celebrities. It allows up and coming artists to have a voice and a place to share their talents with the world. We thrive on the fact that we are a one of a kind show. Lately I have been finding myself wanting more and more to become an activist. That is until how PC everyone has to be as one!! Now I understand that there are some offensive things out there, and those should be dealt with but it seems like everything is offensive nowadays and I just can't see the world that way.
So Should ABC air the sitcom Work It or should they abandon that plan?
Sometimes, shows come along that make you scratch your a head little bit. You ask yourself "What were they thinking? Who would name their show Urinetown? And what is it even about?"
When this comedic satire of a musical opened on Broadway in 2001, no one ever expected anything to come of this odd little show. It had just been presented at the New York Fringe Festival and was far from the typical Golden Era show. The show was surprisingly nominated for 10 Tony Awards and won 3.
November is Adoption Awareness Month: there are many adoptees who are American Indian. Leland Morrill Kirk was adopted by Mormons through the ARENA program and Indian Adoption Projects.
Leland, an actor in Hollywood, has contributed to the new anthology: SPLIT FEATHERS: TWO WORLD (pending publication)
Earlier this week, many people appluaded Zachary Quinto for his bravery in coming out. However I am not sure that he was being very courageous by coming out when he did.
Hey Whats Up Family? Why is it that people use the term eccentric to mean gay? Check out my blog Musique's Poetry at http://www.musiquespoetry.com for more info on this subject.
It's the fifth anniversary of LOVE, Cirque du Soleil and the Beatles' wonderful collaboration of dance, acrobatics, performance art and most importantly, music.
This was my third show, I saw it with my youngest son the first year it came to Las Vegas (not one of my favorite locales), and I returned again with my oldest son and his girlfriend. This time I took my partner for his birthday and he was finally able to see how outrageously wonderful this show is for any one who adores the Beatles.

No it is not about falling in love with the RJ but the show itself!
With a combination of nostalgic music and soothing words, the RJ, SHALU FAISAL magically gets in to the deepest corners of the minds of her listeners and elicit expressions of most secretly guarded of pain, love, affection, pangs of separation and loneliness, and get them to share with you in most wonderful snippets of poetry and words!
Magically, you can't help but fall in love all over again!
There are certain men that have their special tactics to ensure that they can seduce any women - or at least that is what they think (and brag about).
Some of these little rules are true and helpful for men, and some are absolute rubbish.
Let's spell out all the womanizer-rules we can think of to help men actually get a woman and to help women stop rolling their eyes at wanna-be-womanizers.
I finally attended a performance of the now-infamous Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark. For all of its flaws - boring parts, confusing plot and unmemorable songs - I couldn't help but be swept up in the technical spectacle of the production and ended up really enjoying myself. So bad it’s good? Maybe. Have you seen Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark? What are your thoughts on this play and its ramifications for the future careers of its director (Julie Taymor) and composers (U2's Bono and The Edge)?
For those who have watched the short films we post here on Sunday Church Service you may have noticed that many are produced and distributed through collaboration with Future Shorts film label, now the largest short film network in the world.
With Charlie Sheen out of control, and the future of Two and A Half Men in blanace I offer some casting advice to the producers and CBS. I think they should bring in Kathy Griffin or Lindsay Lohan as a love interest for one of the remaining guys, What do you guys think?
