Considering Leaving Facebook?
I had to do it. I found that friends were starting to treat me and others like "facebook friends" in real life, for example, "collecting friends" - so that just like you can show off how many "friends" you have on your "facebook friends list" - you can do this in real life, by calling people and making tentative plans without any attention of following through with them. I have lost friends via facebook because I have found people will be reactionary and start throwing insults at me that they never would in person if they disagree with something I say. I also noticed that the gossip going around on "the book" had taken on a life of its own. Are you having problems with facebook/spybook/hatebook/crackbook? Has it destroyed any of your friendships, or do you find it to be a useful tool? Finally, are you comfortable with the fact that everything you post on facebook is "property of facebook"?

Another Comrade
For those still shocked at my leaving the networking site we now know as Facebook, I'd like to present a blog about another one's journey to their own breaking free from the site's hold on them. The site, http://www.practiceofmadness.com/, has many interesting reads and discussions. But it is the one about Facebook that really caught my eye.
