When life gives you lemons...
Make a lemon still life. As a newcomer to oil painting I'm very slow as I work, and so the process can be time consuming. A professional musician does not need another distraction to deal with, and after some serious thought I've been able to make peace between the two arts.

The Art of Painting as a Parable of Manifesting Reality
Anne Robinson's blog about getting into the art of oil painting from the perspective of a musician inspired a realization and a new blog post when she stated, "I can now bring to reality an idea in my head...and it happens right before my eyes!" The realization is that painting is a model of what happens in the real world by ideas which also project and manifest into reality in three dimensional space. The process of painting is a parable of our secret power, even if we are unconscious we are painting our thoughts into the world.
